Teacher Assessment

KS1

In reading, writing and mathematics teachers will assess children against three standards:

working towards the expected standard

working at the expected standard

working at greater depth within the expected standard

For science children will be assess against one standard: working at the expected standard.

KS2

In reading, mathematics and science children are assessed against one standard:
working at the expected standard. Pupils will be grouped into 2 categories; the ‘working at the
expected standard’ category plus an additional category for those pupils that do not meet that
standard.

In writing, teacher assessment is the primary outcome used for accountability.
Teachers must refer to the interim framework when making their teacher assessment judgement.
The framework contains 3 standards:

working towards the expected standard

working at the expected standard

working at greater depth within the expected standard
