Admission Arrangements

St Bernadette’s is a Roman Catholic Primary School provided by the Diocese of Salford and is maintained by the Bury Local Authority as a Voluntary Aided School.

The School’s Governing Body is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions.

Applications to start school (Reception Year) are dealt with direct through Bury Council Admissions Team.

All applications should be made online.

Once this has been done the supplementary form, Baptism Certificate and recent proof of address must be handed into the School Office before the online submission deadline.

Admission to the school is in accordance with the admission policy which can be downloaded from the link above.

Appeals

We use Bury Council Appeals Process to deal with any appeals for places. Please contact Bury LA if you would like to appeal for a school place at St Bernadette’s RC Primary School.

For in year admissions, all the child’s details (Name, DOB, Address) plus parents name and contact information are held on a waiting list accessible by the office team. As and when a place becomes available, the school’s admissions criteria is applied to those on the waiting list and a place offered accordingly.
