Our Gardeners and Seeds
Mother Teresa once said, “None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful.”
This beautiful thought captures the spirit of our Gardeners and Seeds.
In our school, Reception children are the “seeds” and Year 6 children are the “gardeners.” The youngest pupils are welcomed, supported, and nurtured by their older role models, who help them settle into school life and grow in confidence throughout their first year. In turn, the older children gain a sense of responsibility and learn to live out our school value of love in a practical, meaningful way.
The imagery of gardeners nurturing seedlings reflects our mission statement: “Together we grow in God’s love.”
Throughout the year, our Gardeners and Seeds spend time together in activities that strengthen friendships and learning. They share worship, enjoy playtimes, and support one another in reading and other aspects of school life. Step by step, through kindness and encouragement, both seeds and gardeners flourish.
